まるで竹のPVCパイプ
建材として使用されるPVCパイプを最小限の加工でインテリアとして利用することを模索した。
パイプの断面を熱したり、パイプどうしを熱で継いでいくと、工業製品であるPVCパイプはたちまち工芸的な表情を持つ。長く伸ばしていく工程で得られる必然的な表情が、プロダクトの特徴や個性として機能することに着目し花器とテーブルを制作した。
パイプを継いで長くすると、自然物のように天に伸びて成長しているように見えることからgrowと名付けた。
PVC pipe like bamboo
I sought to use PVC pipe, which is used as a building material, for interior decoration with minimal processing.
By heating the cross sections of the pipes and joining the pipes together with heat, the product has a craft-like expression. The vase and table were created with a focus on the fact that the inevitable expression obtained in the process of lengthening the pipes functions as a characteristic and individuality of the product.
The name "grow" comes from the fact that when the pipes are joined and lengthened, they appear to grow to the sky.
